About City Centre

The City Centre of Edinburgh is famous for the views of the Castle. The Old Town and Royal Mile, with ancient multi-storey buildings and underground vaults, leads away from the Castle esplanade and is surrounding by tiny closes and lanes for exploration. The area really comes alive during the annual Edinburgh Festival. The New Town was created in the 18th century to solve the problem of overcrowding and lies north of Princes Street with a grid formation. Princes Street and Princes Street Gardens are popular with locals and tourists alike whilst the surrounding area is the main shopping district of Edinburgh.
